The turbo-diesel V-8 enables the Silverado 2500 to tow 22,500 pounds, while the diesel-powered 3500 gets a 36,000-pound towing capacity. For the first time in Silverado HD history, both engines pair with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission, previously exclusive to diesel-powered models. The first-ever Silverado HD ZR2 has a 1.5-inch suspension lift and 35-inch mud-terrain tires.
