2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 | Priority Chevrolet in Newport News, OHIf you want a pickup perfect for work and play, you can’t go wrong with a vehicle from the Chevy lineup. Chevy offers a sleek, stylish selection of trucks with various capabilities to suit every driver’s needs. Let’s review Chevy’s truck selection to see which one is right for you.

Colorado

The Colorado is a capable midsize pickup truck available in five trims. The Colorado comes standard with a 2.7-liter turbo engine capable of producing 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Select trims can accommodate a high-calibration engine that generates 310 horsepower and up to 430 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, the Colorado can tow up to 7,700 pounds. Both engines pair with an eight-speed electronically controlled transmission featuring overdrive. A tow/haul mode provides more acceleration power when traveling with a heavy load and uses engine compression to help slow the truck.

Lower trims come with your choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, while upper trims come standard with an all-wheel-drive system. If you go with the Colorado Trail Boss, you can add a 2-inch factory-installed lift that increases ground clearance and improves approach and departure angles to enhance off-road performance. Available amenities include an eight-way power driver’s seat, a 120-volt power outlet, and a Bose premium audio system.

Silverado 1500

The Silverado 1500 is a mighty pickup without unnecessary bulk to weigh you down. With nine trim levels to choose from, it’s easy to find a Silverado 1500 you’ll absolutely love. The base engine is a 5.3-liter EcoTec V-8 that generates 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. If you go with an upper trim level, you’ll enjoy a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter EcoTec V-8 putting out 460 pound-feet of torque. Chevy also offers a 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine for drivers who prefer a diesel-powered pickup.

When properly equipped, the Silverado 1500 can carry a payload of 2,260 pounds or tow up to 13,300 pounds. The 5.3-liter V-8 teams up with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the other engines pair with a 10-speed automatic. Every Silverado 1500 has an all-wheel-drive system that sends torque to all four wheels for uniform stability. If you enjoy venturing off the beaten path, consider the Silverado 1500 ZR2, which has off-road-ready features like a specially cut front bumper, multimatic DSSV dampers, and 33-inch mud terrain tires.

Silverado HD

The Silverado HD is a versatile heavy-duty pickup that’s comfortable at home on busy city streets and rugged terrain alike. The HD lineup includes the Silverado 2500 and Silverado 3500, which are available in five trims. A 6.6-liter gas V-8 engine comes standard, producing 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. You can also equip your Silverado HD with an available 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 that puts out 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.

The turbo-diesel V-8 enables the Silverado 2500 to tow 22,500 pounds, while the diesel-powered 3500 gets a 36,000-pound towing capacity. For the first time in Silverado HD history, both engines pair with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission, previously exclusive to diesel-powered models. The first-ever Silverado HD ZR2 has a 1.5-inch suspension lift and 35-inch mud-terrain tires.
